Larry's enlightenment is like a "miracle cure" and he is able to
express his mind-expanding discovery as a scientific thesis, which
is a tremendous boost to his career.
================
In Larry's office, his computer keyboard is now pushed to the side,
replaced by a deep-touch
FEEL-U-FEEL-ME pad. He is using it as a
tactile interface to an Internet web browser, enhanced for scientific
data analysis.
Larry is also communicating to the computer via voice recognition
-- spoken commands. He is directing radio telescopes and analyzing
microwave polarization data.
The computer is saying, in its fast-talking, metallic voice, "4-degree
Kelvin radio polarization data -- half-sky map,10 arc-second
resolution."
Larry runs his hand over the
tactile image projected into the pad.
On the computer screen is an image looking like the storm belts
north and south of the equator of earth, viewed from space.
In the pad, the image is in low-relief. Larry commands the
computer, "Edge-enhance."
The image on the screen sharpens, showing chaotic vortices, but with
a rhythmical pattern.
